Whew! I have been deep in my writing/editing/marketing cave for so long, this poor blog hasn’t been getting the love it deserves. Today is the first time I’ve come up for air in I can’t remember how long. Now that my second novel, Sing in the Sunlight, has officially been launched into the world, though, I’m looking forward to getting this blog filled with regular reviews again! And you know what that means? IT’S READING TIME!!! WOOHOO!!!
And boy do I have a lot of books to catch up on! In fact, I just filled my blogging schedule up through March of 2022.
Here are the books I’m planning to read and review during the month of April 2021:
Heart of the Crown by Hannah Currie
The last place Lady Wenderley Davis ever expected to find herself after swearing off princes forever was living in a palace with two of them. Even if it is only temporary. And she did agree to it. Kind of. Against her better judgement.
But then, she’s never been one to hide her heart, nor hold back help from anyone who needs it. And if ever there’s a family who need help, it’s this one.
As two weeks stretch to more, Wenderley throws all she has into showing the princes and their family how to smile again, and she’s loving every moment of it. Which is a problem. Because she’s very quickly becoming attached, and – as the man she’d rather forget keeps reminding her – the one thing she can’t do is stay.
Hope Between the Pages by Pepper Basham
Uncover the Story Behind a One-Hundred-Year-Old Love Letter
Walk through Doors to the Past via a new series of historical stories of romance and adventure.
Clara Blackwell helps her mother manage a struggling one-hundred-year old family bookshop in Asheville, North Carolina, but the discovery of a forgotten letter opens a mystery of a long-lost romance and undiscovered inheritance which could save its future. Forced to step outside of her predictable world, Clara embarks on an adventure with only the name Oliver as a hint of the man’s identity in her great-great-grandmother’s letter. From the nearby grand estate of the Vanderbilts, to a hamlet in Derbyshire, England, Clara seeks to uncover truth about family and love that may lead to her own unexpected romance.
Paranormia by Paul Regnier
A nerdy nobody is heaven’s newest hero. It’s too bad that the devil fights dirty…
Chris Loury is penniless and painfully geeky. So when the struggling illustrator makes a wish that grants him supernatural visions, the lines start to blur between his comics and reality. After he crosses paths with a protector who calls himself an angel, Chris must decide if being a hero is worth the danger.
When his newfound confidence helps him connect with the girl-next-door, he hopes he can balance a relationship and a superhuman secret. But after a devilishly gorgeous woman with money and an ulterior motive tempts him with career success and fame, he puts his crush, his town, and his life in jeopardy.
Will Chris fulfill his destiny and save the city from destruction?
Paranormia is an enthralling urban fantasy adventure. If you like underdog heroes, supernatural battles, and a dash of humor, then you’ll love Paul Regnier’s action-packed novel.
