Another week has come and gone, it’s time to get our Friday on! As always, I’m sharing the first line of a good book and I’m hoping you’ll share the first line of the book nearest you in exchange. So be sure to leave me a comment below before clicking over to visit my First Line Friday friends (links below).
Today I’m featuring, For Love or Loyalty by Jennifer Hudson Taylor. It’s the first book in The MacGregor Legacy series and I truly enjoyed its unique plot line.
Here’s the first line:
A feeling of foreboding crawled over Malcolm MacGregor like a colony of insects picking at his skin.
Now it’s your turn! Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line!
Then head on over and share your First Line with these friends:

“Though the day would soon grow warm, the early coastal chill cut straight to the bone.” Malcolm by George MacDonald.
Optimism despite circumstances. Nice. Thanks for sharing!
Anna’s Crossing
by Suzanne Woods Fisher
And the fist line is…
April 15th, 1737
“It’s a hard crossing, they’d been warned. Eight weeks in a wooden tub with no guarantee they’d ever get there.”
Happy reading and happy Friday!
Well that doesn’t sound very encouraging. lol Thanks for sharing!
Sorry, but your first line makes me shudder!
My first line is: “Preston Tyler lowered his feet from the deck railing & leaned forward as his gaze followed the Jeep pulling up next to the Fontaines’ cabin across the lake.” From Presumed Dead by Angela Ruth Strong
Ha ha ha. I think that’s the idea – to provoke a physical respose in the reader.
Yours sounds like the start of a mystery. 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
That is just the perfect first line to make me want to continue. Love it!
I’m glad you like the first line. I really enjoyed the book.
Ugh! I literally shuddered when I read that! I might have to check this one out. 🙂
The first line is fun, but this book is definitely one of those books that goes deep and challenges your perspective. I definitely recommend it.
I added that one to my tbr! Thanks, Kathleen!
Yay! You won’t be disappointed! 🙂
