first-line-friday-3

If you’re new to First Line Friday, welcome! Each Friday I pick a book and share the first line with you. In return, I hope you’ll share with me a first line from whatever book you have at hand!

Today I am sharing the first lines from a book I am listening to on Audible right now. It is Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur. I am currently only about 2 hours into the 7 hour book, but I have found it fascinating so far and wanted to share it with you even though it isn’t of my usual genre.

12 Extraordinary Women

Here are the first lines:

Eve must have been a creature of unsurpassed beauty. She was the crown and pinnacle of God’s amazing creative work. The first female of Adam’s race was the last living thing to be called into existence – actually fashioned directly by the Creator’s own hand in a way that showed particular care and attentions to detail.

about-the-book-2

Celebrated for their courage, vision, hospitality, and spiritual giftedness, it’s no wonder women were so important to God’s plan revealed in the Old and New Testaments. It wasn’t their natural qualities that made these women extraordinary but the power of the one true God whom they worshipped and served.

In Twelve Extraordinary Women, you’ll learn more than fascinating information about these women, you’ll discover – perhaps for the first time – the unmistakable chronology of God’s redemptive work in history through their lives. These women were not ancillary to His plan, they were at the very heart of it.

Now it’s your turn to grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first (or your favorite) line!

Then head over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating:
