In my last post, I mentioned that I was readying my manuscript to share with my beta readers. Well, the prints have been made, the files converted, and the copies shared with my beta readers. Woohoo!
Like many steps in this process, sharing my manuscript with beta readers is both exciting and terrifying. Although I have been sharing bits and pieces of it with my critique groups, this will be the first time anyone gets to read the whole story. Will they love it? Will they hate it? Will they be honest with me if they do?
Well, to be honest with you, I’ve specifically chosen my beta readers as people I trust to share with me their honest opinions of what they read. Still, that is a double edged sword. Do I really want to know??? Yes. Yes, I do.
As I told them, ‘I’d much rather hear how awful it is from you, than from 100 frustrated reader reviews on Amazon or Goodreads.”
So, if your reading this, Beta Readers, let me have it!
And thank you! Your time and effort are dearly appreciated.
