Fact #10
I’ve driven past the La Mesa Depot Museum dozens of times, but only recently finally found the time to stop and appreciate it. I was surprised to learn that the building (originally built in 1894 and expanded in 1915) has been moved around several times, enduring life as a museum, antique store, chicken coop, and even a worm farm before being purchased by the Pacific Southwest Railway Association and lovingly restored to its original location and 1915 appearance.
